Reed Meseck is Senior Competitive Specialist for IBM’s Information Management Division. In this role, Mr. Meseck can leverage his more than 25 years of technology and executive management experience to help add business value from a number of different perspectives to IBM’s portfolio of software products, and advance IBM’s competitive position in the marketplace. Mr. Meseck provides guidance and input to a variety of groups across IBM Information Management, including research, development, marketing and sales.

Mr. Meseck has worked in a broad spectrum of technical and executive roles. His technical roles have spanned from software engineer to architect to consultant to researcher, working on numerous software and hardware products including operating systems, firmware, compilers, In-Circuit Emulators, performance monitors and data management systems.

His executive roles span over two decades, and include career experience such as building data centers, pioneering new technology, building and staffing research and development centers, re-engineering existing corporations and product lines, and building and operating some of the highest volume internet sites worldwide.

Mr. Meseck has been Executive Vice President of Engineering at Tickets.com, the second largest event ticketing company worldwide (acquired by Major League Baseball); Senior Executive Director at AltaVista Company, the original Internet search engine and eCommerce shopping service; Vice President of Software Engineering at Command Technology Corporation; Director of Corporate Systems at CompuSave Corporation, a pioneer in eCommerce; Chief Architect and CTO at Bounce Networks, a wireless media entertainment company; and Director of Product Strategy at Goal Systems.

Mr. Meseck is an accomplished author and lecturer, speaking at industry conferences such as ACM/SIGMOD, Software Development Conference, and numerous compensated seminars, and authoring numerous papers. He has also participated in standards organizations and was a member of the REXX ANSI committee.

As a consultant, Mr. Meseck provided both technical and business management consulting, performing technical reviews and strategic business reviews which helped companies revitalize product lines, reduce cost and increase revenue. He has provided strategic recommendations and sent them through implementation, reshaping, revitalizing and streamlining the companies in the process.
